Development and validation of autonomous systems is challenging as vehicle manufacturers need to account for both foreseen and unforeseeable factors. We know autonomy relies on sensing, processing of complex algorithms, and actuation implemented by electrical and electronic systems. To be compliant, we must investigate the potential hazardous behavior, analyses that behavior, develop measures to reduce the risk, and most importantly provide evidence proving an acceptable risk level.
In this session, we will explain Safety Of The Intended Function (SOTIF) and demonstrate techniques to prove systems.
