About the new simulator version of MTI

Hi,

I was using older version of MTI which was running fine and didn’r give many failures , but recently , I updated my simulator version to mti_10.1b
This has been running my tests differently and I have observed huge difference in the coverage obtained. I wonder if anyone can tell me how different is the new version on mti from its earlier version 10c ? and what all are different about their runs?

First, with any simulator, the two biggest changes when upgrading major simulator versions are random number generation and event ordering with race conditions. Without understanding how the tests run are running differently, we can not even begin to compare differences in coverage results.

Then there are tool issues that might effect how coverage was calculated that could have changed when updating to major version. You will need to contact Mentor directly.

Thanks Dave… I had checked the coverage and there were indeed some differences… in fact some coverbins were missed out. Can that alone cause the problem?
