HI all training experts::

  • When two such Industry gaints (Mentor $ Cadence) open sourced there verification concepts, You all can also please help people in need like us,

  • There are many people out in world who couldnt & cant afford your trainings, you can help us out by open sourcing some of your training stuffs (at least the necessary materials) which could be valuable for millions…

  • Can understand every people are in need of money and do business in all sort of trainings, products etc etc… but you can post some necessary materials and stuffs which would be helpful…

  • I wish you all take some initiative and help people who are in need of you but couldnt afford…

Hey, Desperado!

Have you tried the OVM User Guide that ships with OVM?
There is also an excellent book by Sasan Iman Step by step functional verification with SystemVerilog and OVM. I have a copy and really rate it! :)
The book takes you through all the SV basics before going into a lot of detail about how and why OVM components are built.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for training vendors to give away their material for free, order yourself a copy of the book. It’ll be more useful to you than a set of training slides anyway :rolleyes:

Nice to see a response… ya i had seen the material that comes along with ovm package but they havent given clear cut examples as all the things are unknown left open in air, its like everything virtual,

  • And since i couldn’t afford a book of my own since the cost is more, thats why posted and learning out from the replies i get, and asking for some training materials…
    _ Kindly if you have some good examples on scoreboard, comparator kindly post it as would be very useful.

Creating good training material requires heavy and continuous investment. Sadly, we must ask for money for our courses to cover those costs!

Can understand every people are in need of money and do business in all sort of trainings, products etc etc… but you can post some necessary materials and stuffs which would be helpful…

We do! Have you looked carefully on our website? You will find plenty of OVM starter material there.

Ya i do have went through all you basic starter of ovm, indeed learned facts on sequencers from that only…

I just have a doubt in the presentation given by doulous in some conference of OVM, the doubt is in the section “other_utility_class”

Where in while using the ovm_monitor and ovm_scoreboard( inside scoreboard ovm_in_order_comparator) , you had mentioned the monitored information are sent via the ovm_analysis_portand inside the scoreboard you get it via ovm_analysis_export , Can you mention how you connect the monitor, scoreboard inside the environment ???

Can you put a small explinatory note “how you actually connect it inside the environment” have a doubt in this area…

Forgive my naivety, but if your employer cannot afford to buy a single book for you, how can they hope to afford to tape out a chip?! :confused:

Sorry for my naivety,there is nothing to deal with my employer to buy or not!! What you are speaking is “out of box” and un-necessary!! I posted asking for help to people who really can, if your able to help well and good else leave it…

Maybe you can reveal/specify a realistic name for us to address you better :-)

While I do appreciate your enthusiasm to learn new concepts, please understand that there is nothing called “free lunch” in this capitalistic world - like it or not. Having said that, yes we need to find way through it (legally I mean) - and that’s precisely what these forums are for. But it is not fair to ask for “free training materials” - having just delivered a 10-day class I can tell for sure - trainings are not as simple as they may sound: a bunch of PPT, some code and some run commands. It is lot lot more than that. Anyway, to come to the point, if you are willing to share your code with good comments and ask for specific help, then someone in this forum will be able to assist you. Given that you have had a good start I recommend that as a better step ahead.

Its upto how people tends to give back to the world from which they had taken from!!

I like a student came in search of such people here who are magnanimous and share their knowledge…

I would rather keep the discussion on economy/politics beyond this tech forum. But just to close the thread - one may google about the wonderful program that you mentioned http://www.akshayapatra.org/

This is not from any single company, many contribute (and INFY perhaps in a big way), I myself have donated some in the past.

Coming back to OVM - similarly many contribute here to spread OVM awareness. I highly recommend you re-read my previous post and show us the code snippet that you have done so far and seek assistance from there onwards.
