Difference between "UCDB" and "UCIS"

Hello all,
I would like to know the difference between UCIS and UCDB? UCDB is an implementation of UCIS?

UCDB is a tool specific coverage database. UCIS is an open API to get data in an out of a tool specific database. Analogous to what the PLI/VPI is to tool specific simulators.
