This is all made up. Except the true parts. It’s a murder mystery. Someone “murdered” my config setting – but I’m getting ahead of the story.
We’re verification engineers, and our testbench is running just fine, doing the things it does, but the system is running a bit slower than our System Architects predicted.
Time for Debug
We’ve been running regression and we switch on debug logging and dig into the postsim debug.

The robustness testing plays a crucial role in terms of safety and is strictly necessary in a DO-254 or any other safety-critical certification process. The robustness is about inducing illegal stimulus and expecting the design to recover from the erroneous state. These conditions should be specified in the requirements document to cover them during the verification activities.
Avionics often involves ARINC (Aeronautical Radio Incorporated) standards and is subject to DO-254. ARINC-708 is one of these standards, which describes the installation of the weather radar system on commercial aircraft. In this article, we will discuss the Display Data Bus of ARINC-708. The bus plays a critical role in terms of the pilot’s point of view. It requires a bi-phase Manchester encoding and decoding. For both Manchester coding and the bus protocol, some examples of possible error types are considered.

This article focuses on the add-on layer of diagnosis implemented using ISO26262 Safety Mechanisms from stages such as Safety Analysis, which checks the susceptibility of the design with FIT calculation, Safety Verification, which uses fault generation on the top of SafeSPI protocol making it safer in terms of features like monitoring sensors, different error detection checks and in terms of fault tolerance. Fault Simulation is used to evaluate potential stimulus failures in real-world scenarios for industries such as Automotive, Augmented Reality, Drones, Aerospace, Military, and Medical. Implementing fault injection and detection in Safety Analysis prevents malfunctions during data transmission, ensuring the accuracy of data in SafeSPI.
