Primary outputs and Set of primary outputs in a Obfuscated FSM

Hello all

I have designed and verified a FSM which has some obfuscation mechanism in it . I have been trying to understand the meaning of the question

“Choose the no primary outputs at which the signature appears from the total
set of primary outputs (npo).”

What does primary and total set of primary means for the FSM

I think the question is missing a critical word “subset”.

“Choose the the subset of primary outputs at which the signature appears from the total
set of primary outputs (npo).”

It basically means separating the outputs into two different sets: those that reflect no state of the FSM, and those that do. This is sometimes called “cone of influence”

Thanks Dave . Wording of the question is pathetic
