Do you mean by loop back within a VIP or it is between VIPs?
I think it should be within VIP dat’s called loopback.
For example as i am not aware about XGMII protocol
you can connect your rx with tx line in interface in case of loopback mode.
If you can explain in detail might you will get better answers.
